(Archival Inkjet Print – 36″ x 18″)

In the image “Pritzker Pavillion, July 26, 2016” I spent the afternoon photographing people in Millennium Park. The image is a composite. By combining photographs digitally, I am able to expand the frame beyond what is seen by the camera in a single photograph. Additionally, each figure in the image is experiencing this place at separate moments in time. The final image elicits a personal “sense of place” more akin to an imperfect memory than to the precision of a photograph.

This image will be exhibited at Elmhurst Art Museum as part of the “Sense of Place” exhibition from December 10, 2016 – February 12, 2017.
